Group-buying gripes growing among consumers

Consumers, blinded by the lure of a great deal, aren’t paying attention to the finer details, according to consumer complaint observations by both the Consumer Federation of America and Internet watchdog SiteJabber.com. At the same time, some merchants aren’t making their terms and conditions crystal clear.

In an age where consumers are more likely to research purchases online before making decisions, the quick-fire daily deal sites appear to have them clicking without too much thinking.

Both the Consumer Federation of America and SiteJabber.com have noted an increase in complaints from consumers who feel they’ve been duped. Whereas there are those who have simply failed to read the small print, in some cases terms and conditions have been deemed too vague or unclear.
